The Acton Board of Selectmen met on June 26 following an 8:00 AM Executive Session, and voted unanimously to authorize a Town acquisition of the Piper Lane parcels and a 40' Right of Way on the eastern side of the 90 School Street parcel from Piper Lane LLC, the developer who proposed a 28 unit 40B project at that site.
The Open Space Committee met on July 2, and voted unanimously to recommend the purchase of these parcels. The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously on July 7 to approve the use of CPA funds for this purchase. The acquisitions were given a final overwhelming approval by citizens at Special Town Meeting on September 8, 2020, and the Board of Selectmen voted on October 5 to authorize the Town Manager to close the deal with the seller on October 23.
